P R O J E C T S

Real design is about people and their relationship to their space. For Turtle Bay Interiors, the idea of home includes family, friends and pets. The design aim is to allow for lots of life and the imperfections that make a house a welcome retreat. The process involves considering not only an individual lamp, but the table it sits on, the chair next to it and all the other essential elements which complete a room.

Shreve Crump & Low - Festive Tables Event

Shreve Crump & Low's 2010 Festive Tables event showcasing tablescapes designed by seven Boston area interior designers. The show is a benefit for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) and the Room to Dream Foundation.

New England Finery

It is a great compliment to have our project grace the cover of the Winter 2011/2012 issue of the fast-growing online magazine New England Finery. The magazine is created by some of the best designers and photographers in our region, many of whom we have the pleasure of knowing and working with. Michael J. Lee's photography does a stellar job of capturing this interior room.

Uncommon Kitchens

Turtle Bay Interiors is honored to be among the Boston area's leading design firms that colunteer time and expertise in community events whose proceeds go to the help of others.

TBI was selected to participate in Shreve, Crump & Low's Festive Tables 2010 to benefit children in need and the Junior League of Boston's Uncommon Kitchens Tour 2010 to improve the lives of women and children in Boston neighborhoods.

New England Home

"The ambitious restoration and redecoration of the College Club of Boston may be the most important interior design project in a private club since Elsie de Wolfe created New York's Colony Club in 1905." Regina Cole, New England Home

The Boston Globe Magazine

"The College Club of Boston, located on Commonwealth Avenue, holds a special place in local history. Founded in 1890, the club is recognized as the oldest resident women's collect club in the country. In the past, it hosted American legends like feminist Lucy Stone and author Mark Twain. Today, it admits both men and women as members and offers them a lively calendar of events, including lectures, book club meetings, and social networking gatherings; nonmembers can rent the public space or stay at a room in the club's bed-and-breakfast." Regina Cole, Boston Globe Magazine

The Boston Courant

"Talented designers have redecorated the rooms, so you will get great ideas and inspirations." Lisa S. Beane

Design New England

"Some new houses have extraordinarily high ceilings, and the rooms can feel really cavernous," says interior designer Darlene Gentle, principal of Turtle Bay Interiors in Cambridge, Massachusetts. "One trick you can use with faux wainscoting is to add trim above the existing baseboard, new trim, and part of the wall all the same color to make the room feel more intimate." Darlene Gentle, Turtle Bay Interiors.
